Diana O’Connor (nee Eastwick), RIP

We are very sorry to have to report the sudden death of Diana O’Connor.
Diana’s brother, Mark, has let us know the tragic news that a neighbour found her body on her front door step about a week ago.   She had suffered a heart attack and had probably lain there for some time.  Diana was 81 and her health was not that good.   Clive, who is 94, was indoors watching television.   He is now in hospital in a dementia ward, and has no idea what has occurred.    Clive and Diana married in 1978 and moved from Eastern Region to St Ives in Cornwall.
The police had to be called, of course, and the body has only recently been released with the house sealed for a period.    A post mortem has found that Diana’s death was due to heart failure  –  a condition which the Coroner said she would have had for some time.
Diana’s funeral will take place on Monday 6th February at 4.00pm at Treswithian Downs Crematorium, Camborne, Cornwall, TR14 0BL.    Martin Perry will kindly attend the funeral on our behalf.
The Funeral Directors are Alfred Smith & Son, 31 Clarence Street, Penzance, TR18 2NX.   Telephone: Marcus Wilkinson  –  01736 362592,   marcus@alfred-smith.co.uk
Clive is at present in the care of Karensa Ward at The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, and Mark is unsure if  he will be able to attend the funeral.    There would be no point in writing to Clive as he has little understanding of what has happened, but we are sure Mark would be touched by a card.    If you wish to contact him, we can supply his details.
